The Lechwe, often known as the “River King,” is one of the most water-loving antelope, rarely venturing more than two to three kilometers from permanent water. Their bodies have evolved to let them to live in and around water. For example, their hind legs are noticeably longer than their front legs, which makes it easier for them to go through swamps and water. They also have wider hooves for easy mud walking.
